This role presented me with crucial exposure to the Real Estate sector applying what I had experienced and learnt in my studies prior. This was valuable experience in activities that are essential in this field. I was able to conduct marketing campaigns of office suites, industrial buildings and retail units, as well as draft Heads of Terms documents for both leasehold and freehold transactions. I also had the opportunity to conduct un-assisted viewings on a range of non-residential properties for prospective tenants and attend site inspections of non-residential properties to accurately provide important information in order to complete rent reviews. My main task was assisting with the smooth transition of all client data from the company's old software to their newly upgraded system. This required cross examination of the existing requirements as well as cleaning up those requirements seen to be out of date. Other objectives included conducting client viewings, lease summaries, telephone work and aiding site inspections. A work-shadowing experience where I got to see some of the top Real Estate professionals for Berkshire in practice. I was able to sit in on client meetings, joint-agent meetings, conduct telephone work as well as process client requirements for subsequent action to be taken. I also accompanied other professionals for on site viewings with prospective tenants on a range of different commercial properties. A week long work shadowing experience where I was with The City Property Management Team. I was able to sit in on both site meetings and virtual team meetings, provide lease summary information and compare redevelopment plans for properties in relation to lease commitments. A work shadowing experience in the Reading Office over a couple of days, introducing me to some of the disputes over certain properties. This activity allowed me to show my problem-solving skills as I offered solutions, which where then compared to the actual action taken for the respective issue. I also sat in on meetings and collected data from marketing brochures to then collate for comparable data.
