I worked within the manufacturing side of the business in my time at AML as a one man band for all things reporting. Decoupled from IT and widely regarded as the go-to guy for anything related to data, I was tasked with a wide variety of projects and often had to research the best solution to the problem. I was able to hone my skills in Excel, Power Query, Power BI, T-SQL and SSRS as well as working on my soft skills. I regularly received projects from senior staff which enabled me to work on my confidence, presentation and (internal) client management skills. I also engaged with the rotating apprentices to expose them to the world of programming and data. I worked closely with those that enjoyed the work I gave them which provided me with lots of tutoring and mentoring experience. Show less
