Additionally, Dr. Detter serves as acting CSO for Definitive Biotechnologies, LLC (a subsidiary of Latham BioPharm Group) that serves to license new diagnostic technologies and rapidly take them to market. Dr. Detter’s role is to lead both the rapid applied development from the technical side and many of the collaborative engagements from the business development side to rapidly move a hand-held infectious disease diagnostic device from the lab, through the FDA and to the market as a POC and OTC at-home application. Chris has authored more than 100 peer reviewed publications on these topic areas. He has scoped, trained, and assisted in setting up genome centers worldwide (including Hawaii, Republic of Georgia, Thailand, Malaysia, and Africa). He has served as a scientific subject matter expert for several law firms and has served on Science Advisory Boards and Board of Directors for Fortune 500 companies, smaller startups and US National Laboratories. Chris is also the founder and lead organizer of the annual Sequencing, Finishing, and Analysis in the Future (SFAF) Genomic Meeting that he started in 2006 to bring together a diverse set of motivated scientists from Academia, US Government, Industry and International Health Communities that are passionate about moving the field of genomics forward faster and more effectively using the rapidly evolving NGS technologies.
