Even though this isn't the job to fulfill my aspirations of becoming a buyer, it is still a solid job with great experience that still pertains to purchasing. My responsibilities include receiving packing slips, loading and unloading trucks, helping AP match some problematic packing slip & purchase order to invoice, mail deliveries, shipping, daily invoicing, stock checks, monthly counts of full shoe inventory, lastly I create some purchase orders on a regular basis that were added to my responsibilities. Additionally I've got experience with Microsoft GP, Raymond reach truck, and Raymond order picker. Show less

Although I only worked here a month it was a very different purchasing job than my DTC one. My responsibilities included, creating purchase orders, sourcing of products, quotes, and finally working with sales reps. Ultimately the position closed after a short time due to the business slowing down, however I did enjoy purchasing in a bigger company. My main responsibilities was to lead a team every night with tight deadlines no matter what due to the deadline of the store opening early morning. Moving everything in the store to the project managers specs, loading and unloading trucks with our supplies, moving pallets, merchandising, general labour. Contract ended November and was offered full-time I tried it for a month and the hours didn't work with me. Creating purchase orders, maintaining relationships with many suppliers, inventory checks, working with accounts payable and receivable to help reconcile discrepancies, customer service, logistics, lastly I often sourced out new suppliers for cheaper prices and kept my suppliers competitive by checking many prices.
