Chris did an outstanding job for us in recruiting the next Chief Executive Officer for St Bartholomew's House. We felt that, out of the 4 firms that we asked to tender for the executive recruitment process, they would each find a capable CEO. However, we selected Chris and Checkside, because we felt they had the capacity to find someone truly out of the box; someone who could lead St Bartholomew's House into a new era. Chris had some challenges along the way. Two of our CEO Selection Committee were a little non-plussed - Chris recognised this quickly, took the time to understand their perspectives, and converted them during the recruitment process to two of his biggest supporters. Most of the Selection Committee were a little technologically challenged, and Checkside use Basecamp (a cloud-based app) to track recruitment jobs and provide transparency for their clients. Chris conducted one-on-one training with the Selection Committee to make sure everyone could use the app throughout the process. But the most important KPI is the result; the Selection Committee and Board have been delighted with Andrew Hogan, who will shortly be appointed as the incoming CEO.
