During my two years working with Chris, I found him to be a detail oriented process engineer, who consistently demonstrated a solid understanding of chemical engineering principles. In a short time, Chris displayed an advanced understanding of the Alkylation Plant as well as its global impact on both upstream and downstream processes. More important than his technical skills, Chris's communications to both management and plant personnel were clear and concise. On more than one occasion, I found Chris to be working late in his office to troubleshoot a unit operating issue. His recommendations to remediate the issue were always practical and technically sound. Working with Chris was a pleasure.

Performed heat exchanger temperature and pressure surveys. Created and updated process unit plot plans and flow diagrams. Inspected recently cleaned and/or new reactors, vessels and exchanger bundles for cleanliness, as-built vs. design specifications, and possible process impacts if placed back in-service. Supervised unloading, loading, treatment, and shipment of catalysts. Developed Refinery-wide sour water balance which tracked flowrates from a dozen process units, and lab results on relative sour water quality. Show less

Performed failure analysis on defective, worn, or catastrophically failed seals to determine if upgraded metal, o-rings, or new configuration was required. Interacted with customers on a daily basis while seconded rotating reliability representative in DuPont’s Deepwater Chambers’ Works Facility. Using a Material Matrix, selected proper type of mechanical seal (non-cartridge vs. cartridge, bellows vs. spring) and material of construction (316 SS vs. Hasteloy, PVC vs. Viton O-rings) based on application, products and operating conditions to meet customer needs. Performed array of lab diagnostics on Insulating Oil samples. (Karl Fisher Water, Dielectric breakdown voltage, color, neutralization number, surface tension, etc.). Interpreted lab results to establish the internal condition of the transformers and circuit breakers, which dictated predictive maintenance work.
