Business Development Advisor
-
Feb 2012 - Jan 2016
Led business development and multilateral engagement for the organisation, in the areas of food security & climate change – and supported the World Vision global partnership in developing, funding and implementing a diverse range of projects, including: sustainable and self-scaling approaches to renewable energy and energy-efficient technologies (often incorporating CDM or voluntary carbon offsetting), land restoration and NRM, sustainable agricultural intensification and livelihood diversification, micro-franchising, savings groups and agricultural value-chain development. I also pioneered World Vision's relational approach to unsolicited business development, including co-creation of large-scale transformative development programs. I played a central role in the inception, design and operationalization of the Africa CSA Alliance (ACSAA) – a formal mechanism for implementing CAADP: Africa’s policy framework for agricultural transformation, wealth creation, food & nutrition security, and economic growth. (See africacsa.org) I was World Vision's representative on ACSAA's Steering Committee, and jointly responsible for representing the interests of the World Vision Global Partnership in the development of its structure, strategy, policies and guidelines. I was also Chair of the ACSAA's Financing Working Group (with representatives from AU/NEPAD, COMESA, NORAD, CGIAR, CARE and Oxfam), which led engagement with key governments and donors; and Co-Chair of World Vision’s Alliance Advisory Committee, which determines the strategic approach of the World Vision Global Partnership in the Africa CSA Alliance.
