I was very fortunate to come across Prof. Chowdhury Akram Hossain when I started volunteering for IEEE during my undergrad studies. He was a fantastic individual with strong leadership and management skills that inspired me the most. He also introduced me to the teaching profession by providing me with opportunities and guided me to realise my leadership capabilities while working for IEEE AIUB Student Branch. Prof. Chowdhury Akram Hossain is a great acamedician and a very decisive leader who brings in positive energy with his presence in the room. I was one of the few fortunate students to have Prof. Chowdhury Akram Hossain as one of my mentors, and I firmly believe he will only bring great fortune wherever he goes.

I have taken several Engineering courses under Mr. Chowdhury Akram Hossain (Akram sir) during my B.Sc. of EEE at AIUB. There are two types of teachers in my opinion. 1. Good teachers who teach you about the subject matter well; 2. Great teachers who push you out of your comfort zone to try and explore new things along with your academics. In my honest opinion, Akram sir falls under the 'great' category. He used to always inspire and motivate me to pursue skills and knowledge without compromising my education. I served as the Chair of IEEE AIUB SB under his guidance. During that phase of my life, I was able to grow and mature as a professional and human being. Even after graduation, Akram sir continued to support me in different capacities. We started an initiative to teach underprivileged school students with University students of IEEE under the guidance of Akram sir. He even gave us the seed funding to set up the classroom for those students. One key lesson that I take away from Akram sir is that you have to be a good human first, then a good engineer/academic. I try to instill that knowledge in my team members and leadership students.
