I have known Yilin in her various capacities as a designer and social entrepreneur, having worked with her on various projects. I say without the least strand of doubt that she comes up amongst the very best of the talented individuals I have had the pleasure to cross paths with - gifted with the unique mix of head, heart and courage that she will undoubtedly channel toward developing recipes for meaningful change in the world. Yilin possesses the uncanny ability to see links and patterns in disparate issues and weave them into unorthodox solutions that few would ever think of; she has masterfully combined the deeply human in situations, yet profoundly aesthetic drawn from the most unlikely of places in the triple bottom line philosophy of her business. I'm sure that this is only the first Act of what she has lined up - balancing the seemingly contradictory elements of business and social impact with poise, perfection and profitability. Can't wait for the curtain to be lifted on Act Two.

In working with Yilin on an eco fashion awareness workshop, I was very impressed by her leadership skills, clarity on what she wanted, ability to come up with creative concepts and how she wanted them marketed and communicated, to how quickly and effectively she executed these plans. She takes both a macro and micro look at things and was very hands on in putting together this workshop, even though she had to be away on work quite often. What moved me most was her passion to create social change, which is very obvious in the ways and the effort she makes to source ethically and sustainably. Also, from speaking to her, I'd learnt of her desire to create as much social impact as possible, and I laud her on her continual mission to grow and spread key sustainabilty messages through her beautiful and meaningful jewellery. .
