Curatorial Projects Speicalist
-
May 2019 - Present
In the Stan Hywet Museum Services Department I am responsible for a majority of the restoration work in our interpreted rooms, as well as cataloging and maintaining the restoration textile and trim collection. I collaborate with Tour Services and the Education Department on larger interpretation projects, program development, and exhibit ideas. I work with the curator to co-organize and install the yearly estate theme and exhibition. On top of restoration and interpretation projects I also coordinate and oversee a floral showcase each fall and manage all of the decorations in the house for the holidays. I plan the transformation of over 20 spaces in the museum while adhering to strict preservation guidelines. Managing relationships with our donors, decorators, vendors, and volunteers plays a big part in this aspect of my job. I enjoy assisting our marketing department with social media projects and fundraising content creation. Show less

Collections Technician Specialist
-
Jun 2017 - May 2019
In this role I was involved in extensive inventory projects throughout the interpreted spaces and storage areas of the museum. These included various object collections such as books, furniture, textiles, historic remnants, costume, and artwork. I worked daily with PastPerfect5 and many of my projects involved formatting and organizing information and filling in records in the database. I oversaw several interns, some brand new to museum work and some very knowledgeable. I gave guidance on their projects and familiarized them with work in historic house museums.I participated in an annual two month deep-cleaning of the entire museum. This involved object handling, pest management, condition reporting, and some conservation work. I assisted in development and implementation of yearly thematic exhibits and themes on the historic estate. Show less

Manager
-
Jan 2014 - May 2015
Pump It Up is an party zone full of inflatables for families to host events or for the public to burn off some energy. As a manager there I oversaw the staff (between 3-10 at a time) and made sure the day's events ran accordingly- from pizza delivery, present handling, cake transportation, inflatables safety, POS management, and party host happiness. Some days we would see one public event, others we'd have 10 parties with 3 happening at one time. I also helped party hosts plan their events and navigated customer service for the company. I used substantial decorating, cleaning, and phone skills daily. Adhering to safety guidelines was a top priority in this position. Show less
