  After beginning to come to terms with my diagnosis of type 1 diabetes, I searched for projects I could get involved with in order to raise awareness about the illness. This was a cause close to my heart after being seriously ill and spending just under a week in hospital after being diagnosed, a big factor in this was a lack of knowledge about the symptoms, all of which I was showing and discussing with my GP. I was thrilled to be able to get involved with type1uncut, a YouTube channel ran by Diabetes UK which tackled topics affecting young people. Along with this I was given the opportunity to create a promotional video for their short films campaign for school children. Show less
