Probation Volunteer

I volunteered for Cheshire and Greater Manchester CRC for just over a year, and it was a valuable experience. I decided to start volunteering in my second year at university as I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do when I graduated, I enjoyed criminology so I decided to apply to voluntary placements in the criminal justice sector. I got a voluntary placement with the CRC, and that is when I found my passions for helping people, and I decided it was what I wanted to do when I graduated. I worked in numerous offices around Greater Manchester, helping deliver a WISER rehabilitation group, and group inductions. I also helped with home visits, the drop in centre and I took on various mentoring roles. I thoroughly enjoyed my time as a Probation Volunteer. I enjoyed dealing with a broad range of people from different backgrounds. I also enjoyed helping others and assisting them to make the most of the opportunities that come their way and help them in their rehabilitative path. Show less

At The New Inn, I took on multiple roles. Working as a waitress, behind the bar, housekeeping and as kitchen assistant improved my skills I had previously obtained as a Kitchen Assistant at the Horseshoe Inn. This role helped me work on my customer service skills and my punctuality. At The New Inn, I took on multiple roles. During my part time job at The Horseshoe Inn, I was responsible for a number of tasks. This included food preparation, serving food and working behind the bar. I learnt skills such as working effectively in a team and time management. During my part time job at The Horseshoe Inn, I was responsible for a number of tasks.
