It has been an incredible experience working for Unlocked and learning more about ex-offender rehabilitation and prison officer recruitment, training and development. In this position I've expanded my experience in event coordination and project management. This job involved preparing food for catering events such as weddings, serving beverages and setting up and packing down events. The fast-paced environment has increased my confidence working under pressure. Further the long hours required a lot of motivation within the job. • Social Enterprise Development Intern
      • Jan 2020 - Feb 2020

I had an invaluable opportunity spending 4 weeks as the social enterprise development intern for Integrate. During this 4-week internship I was given the responsibility to carry out market research and findings to move forward a business plan for a social enterprise. This involved interviewing ex-offenders, collating findings and presenting them in a manner that allowed my manager to use them to back up her proposal. Within this internship I also had the responsibility to liaise with companies, set up interview calls with other social enterprises and look into funding streams. This internship confirmed that social enterprise is the area of business I have a passion for and would like to purse after university.

      • Jun 2019 - Sep 2019

I completed a summer internship with Enterprise at Aberdeen airport. This company has a core value of customer service and this was something I demonstrated and learnt a lot about during the twelve weeks. I was dealing with customers all day which further built on my people skills. It allowed me to have more confidence in dealing with difficult customers and gave me a high level of patience and understanding. I was given high responsibility and independence to make judgements and authority to give customers discount or upgrades when it was necessary. I was further given the role to train new employees in the business which further built on my leadership skills.

    • Student Experience Representative
      • Sep 2018 - May 2019

Working within a given budget to organise weekly events for students. This part time job at university has further improved my time management skills as I must balance my university deadlines with work deadlines. Having to work within a given time and budget has also improved my organisation skills as orders need to be placed and communicated to managers to arrive before event dates and to fit within budget. My leadership skills are pushed as there is a large amount of responsibility and independence within the job.

      • Jun 2016 - Aug 2018

Taking orders, organising stock, waitressing, full time barista. Throughout my final year at school I worked on a part-time basis in Cognito coffee shop/restaurant, and full time through summer and Christmas. This allowed me to build on my people skills as I was interacting with new colleagues and customers every day. I further trained and managed new employees. I gained full coffee training and have been making coffees for over four years and it has become a huge hobby which I enjoy doing out with work.

    • Paper girl
      • Oct 2014 - Oct 2016

Delivering papers every Sunday morning (7:45am) around the local area. The job has allowed me to understand commitment, persistence and punctuality as the job is very repetitive.
