Immediate Theatre is a community youth arts charity based in Hackney and focusing on using drama to support hard to reach young people in developing their social and emotional skills and resources through issues based drama. As training co-ordinator I manage the 2moro project which supports young people who have had contact with the criminal justice system and who have previously been NEET to train as a Peer Facilitators. I manage a team of 6 peer facilitators 18 - 22 and support them as they work towards a BTEC in Peer Mentoring, a Gold Arts Award and Youth Work Qualification through their work on the companies Estate Based Youth Theatre. I am also the co-ordinator for two Estate Based Youth Theatres working with young people 8 - 11 and 12 - 18, planning and delivering drama sessions as part of a team. In my role as Training Co-ordinator, I am responsible for supporting volunteers and managing and developing accreditation programmes for the young people that we work with.

Talent In Action links talented teachers, arts facilitators and practitioners with schools, children and young people’s services and young people who are looking for emotional, educational and behavioural support. We provide tailor-made workshops to support young people in building their self-esteem, confidence, emotional literacy and communication skills, helping them to manage difficult emotions and trauma whilst discovering their own potential through the arts. At Talent In Action we believe that emotional and behavioural difficulties stem from unresolved and traumatic experiences and relationships in a young persons’ history. Through the use of the arts we aim to support young people in accessing and working through their emotions, increasing their sense of identity and self and imbuing them with a new set of skills to interact with the world around them.
