Jun 2022 - Present
Assistant progress leader sharing responsibility for Year Nine alongside an academic member of the progress team. I have responsibility for the pastoral wellbeing, social, emotional mental health and progress of 230 students. I also have responsibilities working as part of a team of Designated Safeguarding Leads across the school- something I am keen to develop further and would welcome any opportunities to do so. I have experience in attending safeguarding panels and meetings but would love the opportunity to further progress my knowledge in this. I have responsibilities for ensuring the welfare and wellbeing of my year group is paramount to their academic achievement. I communicate brilliantly with members of the wider school team, as well as parents and carers of my pupils. I thrive under pressure and am able to effectively complete my role in a well organised, calm and methodical manner, ensuring a child centered approach is at the forefront of my work. I oversee the year group closely with the head of year, whereby my communication and organisation is indicative of our ability to work effectively together. I am an open and approachable individual allowing students to freely come and discuss any issues they may have with me. I am able to problem solve and establish positive outcomes for my students, communicating this with members of senior leadership and teachers. I also have responsibilities for delivering a hockey enrichment programme to my students and hope to deliver this to the wider school community, with the end goal of having a school hockey team. I have also recently been elected as support staff governor for the school.
