My main responsibilities as a customer assistant included giving out premium service and always offering support to customers and colleagues and handling queries in an appropriate manner. When problems arose and needed to be solved, I was able to use my initiative and logical thinking. And when it was busy, I was required to work well under pressure but still offer good quality service. I was also expected to keep my area clean and tidy whilst also having a tidy appearance myself. Within this role, I was also required to supervise new employees and share my skills with them. Show less

I was assigned to the Data Loss Protection team, where I was required to oversee quarantined emails containing sensitive data, analyse the information and identify ways to improve the governance, processes and behaviors to protect information by advising encryption. Through this role I had to adapt my style of communication to the appropriate audience and communicate well over all levels and formats (verbal/written) and analyse data and use excel to present this data. I led a team of 3 in running a charity project, to aim to raise as much money as possible for Santander’s charity partners. Through this I hosted successful fundraisers that raised around £600 and negotiated with other businesses for prizes for the raffle. At the end of the placement, I was asked to deliver a presentation to the director and managers about my experience at Santander. After this I was able to implement my own idea of a way to strengthen the process of coaching colleagues on the important of email encryption. Show less
