As well as my role as a lead children's bookseller, I also ran instore events. These events included book signings which regularly attracted over 700 people. My responsibilities included preparation for the day, liaising with publishers and head office and the Bluewater staff, dealing with large numbers of customers at one time, and ensuring the logistics of an event ran smoothly. Danecourt is a school for students with moderate to complex learning difficulties. My role as an LSA was to work with small groups of students with different disabilities in all areas of the curriculum. In my time at Danecourt I was fortunate enough to be put on several courses including first aid, medication training, an adapted sign language and courses on various learning difficulties.
