  The Royal Children's, NICU is a level 4, 24 bed unit with 10-12 beds designated for intensive care patient ratio 1;1, the remaining patients are high dependency nursed 1:2, complex medical and surgical patients from day 1 of life to 3 months ( at times) . The patient population is varied and often inextricably complex and individualized, with exposure to a myriad of cases and clinical conditions. Optimized patient care is the driving force in my career, and is an inherent founder to the deliverance of care to which I strive towards professional on a daily basis. The exposure in the intensive care clinical context has enabled myself to practice as a highly organised and efficient nurse who meets health care imperatives by proactively handling multiple demands and competing priorities, whilst maintaining a calm and logical approach to solving health problems.
