Urban Archaeology provides a wide range of on- and off-site services to the archaeological profession, including running and working on excavations, post-excavation services, training and development work, and archaeological illustration work. Details of past projects can be found on my blog at http://urban-archaeology.blogspot.co.uk/ My extensive experience in urban, monastic and rural archaeology, linked to a keen awareness of project sequencing and site safety, coupled with a hard-working ethic, mean that I can make a positive contribution to any project, whether it be for 6 months or half a day. Over the past five years I have provided sub-contracted services as an archaeologist, supervisor and project officer to a number of established archaeological companies and consultancies including LP Archaeology, Archaeology South-East, Historic Royal Palaces and SLR Consulting. Highlights have included the excavation, and ongoing post-excavation assessment and analysis of a major medieval site in the north Cotswolds (http://urban-archaeology.blogspot.co.uk/2013/11/iron-age-burial-and-medieval-farming.html#more), watching brief at Hampton Court Palace, a large scale Strip and Map project in the Weald and confined space work digging 7.8m deep shafts through the City ditch at Minories in the City of London (http://urban-archaeology.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/minories.html#more). I also carry out small scale survey, evaluations, excavations and watching briefs directly for clients through the planning process, and work on Church of England sites under Faculty. As part of my long-standing commitment to training and development I am currently expanding the Urban Archaeology training materials range, which are available free to download from https://independent.academia.edu/chizharward Show less
