Provided thematic leadership in the human rights, community engagement and gender equity (HR,CE, GE) component of the assessment for Botswana's validation for Path To Elimination (PTE) for vertical transmission and peadiatric HIV. As a result, in 2021 Botswana became the first high prevalence country to be certified for PTE by WHO Global Validation Advisory Committee (GVAC) having fulfilled the minimum standards for HR,CE & GE Facilitated technical assistance (TA) by The Global Fund and PEPFAR to the Government of Botswana and civil society implementing partners in the AIDS response and Covid-19 pandemic preparedness and response. e.g. managed TA in the development of the three Global Fund funding requests for Botswana: i) TB HIV 2022-24 grant for $23.3m; and ii) Two Covid-19 Response Mechanism Funding (C19RM) requests to access about $12m. Provided technical and coordination guidance to accelerate the AIDS Response through facilitation of key global partnerships (Global Prevention Coalition, Fast Track Cities) and application of tools for innovative tools for efficient and effective combination HIV prevention programming. e.g. Prevention Self-Assessment Tool (PSAT) and Prevention Cascade.
