Manage NetImpact’s Data Management program, a $2M contract in which approximately 10 personnel perform all activities necessary to support the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s FinCEN (Financial Crimes Enforcement Network) Data Collection Storage and Dissemination (DCSD) system. The goal of the DCSD system is to enable FinCEN to efficiently and effectively collect, store, protect, analyze and disseminate Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) information, which consists of both structured BSA reports as well as transaction data and unstructured data. Management duties include: • Oversight of the Hadoop / HUE Production upgrade, leading the effort to expand from three to ten nodes. • Collaborate with O&M team to assume Production Support activities. Manage the performance and execution of the daily ETL needed to support data collection processing and the dissemination of data to all downstream customers. Analyze ETL processes to evaluate the need for additional checks and balances to ensure proper processing and reconciliation - and to ensure the integrity of the data and system performance for downstream systems. • The Data Management team assumed the duties of ingestion of unstructured Demand Letters into the Hadoop environment and a relational database from the previous vendor. The team has improved documentation, processes and throughput and is working on further enhancements to the process. • Conversion of FinCEN main data warehouse, which contains approximately 9TB of BSA data, from Oracle to PostgreSQL. • Managed the process of standardizing, indexing and data visualization within FinCEN by replacing SOLR with ElasticSearch in the Special Collections environment • Worked with teams across FinCEN and implemented new processes for the ingestion of virtual currency transactions into new and legacy databases Show less

The Applications Support Program is a contract valued at approximately $18.4M per year with 80+ employees and subcontractors. The program includes eight different DHA/SDD projects including BCS, DMHRSi, EAS IV, ESSENCE, M2, PEPR, PHIMT and Serena/ALM. The projects represent many different technologies, from UNIX to Windows and include both COTS and GOTS products. As the Technical Program Manager Mr. Mayan is responsible for overseeing all technical aspects the program including initiation, progress-tracking, and managing troubleshooting support. In addition, Mr. Mayan is responsible broader programmatic tasks including contractual, technical and administrative performance under the contract. Major Accomplishments: • Oversaw the transition of the DemoTraining, ProdTest and Production environments for BCS, DMHRSi, EAS IV, ESSENCE, PEPR, PHIMT and Serena/ALM from traditional hardware to a DISA cloud virtual environment • Managed the transition of DMHRSi (an Oracle e-Business implementation), from traditional hardware to a DISA cloud virtual environment. This transition involved migrating from Solaris to AIX OS, upgrading Oracle databases from 11g to 12c and transference of over 17 terabytes of data • Managed the transition of EAS and EIRB into a common Virtualized WebLogic platform using WebLogic containers within the DMHRSi environment. This consolidation has reduced the footprint of SDD within DISA by reducing the number of VOEs therefor resulting in cost savings. • Managed the implementation of database improvements to DMHRSi to realize a 5+ terabyte space savings as well as performance improvements • Designed and transitioned to a matrixed technical team across the program; previously the teams were stove-piped per application. • Supported several Business development efforts including bids for DHRES, JOMIS/JATS, MODS and Logicol. Also key on the recomplete for the current Applications Support program, which is due out in the next few months. Show less
