I had the pleasure of working with Chip at ACM and have to say she was an integral part of the course and artist development. Always going the extra mile for our students and staff. Chip's teaching of Stagecraft & Presentation allowed our students to progress quickly and efficiently - she helped the students identify their strengths and identity as emerging singer-songwriters aged between 17 - 30 years. I had some vocal coaching last year from Chip to help me improve my singing technique as I front a folk band, Newick Folk.. As well as being a great performer she has a detailed and analytic understanding of the mechanics of the vocal chords and this has helped me greatly in reaching higher notes with confidence. What she taught me about the mechanics of how the voice works has greatly improved my ability to control my voice and has been invaluable over the last couple of months when I have had to do 4 or 5 gigs while suffering from a persistent chest infection. I run and manage the band I set up called Chip Jenkins Jazz. My tasks involve finding gigs, advertising, google profile boostings, managing the band diary, finding the best musicians possible for the gig, invoicing etc. I choose the music, find ways of marketing ourselves and deal with all clients/venues. So far I use the services of a Webdesigner, Media company, numerous musicians, a bookeeper, an accountant, and a fantastic bookings director!
