Simulated load model transient conditions for integrated engine and transmission models. Tools used – GT-Power, Matlab, Simulink. CALIBRATION SUPPORT • Developed and documented virtual calibration methodology for turbocharged direct injected gasoline engines. • Leveraged GT-Power as a 1-D simulation tool in conjunction with statistical Gaussian models to train artificial neural network for engine air flow calculations. Tools used – GT-Power, ASCMO, PowerCal. PROCESS ALIGNMENT, TOOL DEVELOPMENT AND INTEGRATION • Matlab GT Power co-Simulation for implementing Matlab based genetic algorithms with a parallel pool of workers for engine performance optimization as an alternative to DOE. • Developed a GUI application to integrate the steps of a typical 1-D GT power simulation process and used it to align dyno and simulation activities for Virtual Engine Development. Tools used – Shell scripts, Java, Visual Basic. ELECTRIFIED POWERTRAIN GROUP - TECH. LEAD • Optimize engine calibration and clutch engagement time for fastest engine transient response subject to NVH constraints during an idle tip in maneuver for a 2.0 L GMET4 K8 Plug in Hybrid. • Root cause analysis for tip-in/tip-out gear rattle noise for a 3.6 L Pentastar engine with SI-EVT transmission. Identify and isolate portion of powertrain responsible for the noise source and use root locus methodology to design a controller to minimize gear rattle. Filed a patent with FCA. Show less
