I am part of the Greater Grads Campus Marketing Team that work to recruit students to attend the 2010 Greater Grads Career Fair on March 1, 2011, at the Cox Business Services Center in Oklahoma City. I take part in developing a marketing plan to recruit students to the Career Fair to supplement the Chamber’s marketing strategy. The Greater Oklahoma City Chamber has over 5,100 member companies and is one of the largest Chambers of Commerce in the United States. The primary goal of the Chamber is to continually enhance Oklahoma City as a community for companies to locate or expand operations. The Greater Grads program is a critical component of the Chamber’s economic development program. One of the first attributes that an employer will consider is the availability of workforce talent to meet their needs. The Greater Grads program is designed to create connections and opportunities for college students in Oklahoma after graduation. A key program event in the Greater Grads program is the Greater Grads Career Fair. The goal of the Career Fair is to connect college students with Oklahoma-based job and/or internship opportunities.

I spent about two months interning at KFOR-TV NewsChannel 4 in Oklahoma City. I gained experience from shadowing reporters, anchors, producers, editors, photographers, multimedia professionals and ENG engineers. I also had the opportunity to shoot stand-ups and practice on camera, edit my own packages. It was one of the best experiences I have ever had!
