I’m lucky enough to have worked with such a dedicated engineer and teammate as China. We teamed up to build a social mentor matching web application, Stack Support. China eagerly took the lead on the building the chat feature, using Socket.io, a technology we were not practiced in prior. She quickly grasped the library’s assets to create secure channels for our users to communicate over. Her persistence to solve complex problems was something that was inspirational to the team. She was always the first to set aside her work and jump in on debugging. She is remarkably bright, personable, and logical in her approach to problem solving. When we struggled to move forward, she was incredibly patient and was always willing to share her knowledge. China is also incredibly well organized and able to keep the big picture in focus, which greatly helped to ensure everyone was on the same page when it came time to meet our deadlines. I highly recommend China and am thrilled for whatever organization is fortunate to have her on their team.

At Edible Schoolyard I was able to bring together my passions for data-based decision making, org change, food education, and collaborative work. As a volunteer, I transformed the evaluation team's survey process from paper-and-pencil to digital on a non-profit budget, using SurveyGizmo and Amazon Kindle Fires. After transitioning to a part-time contract role, I continued my work helping the organization move to new evaluation tools, streamline its data-collection processes and get the most meaning from its data.

As part of my Organizational-Psychology training, I worked with RiseBoro's small but might HR team to conduct an assessment of training needs across RiseBoro's six divisions, including focus groups, one-on-one interviews, and a company-wide survey. I analyzed the results and supported HR management in launching a company-wide L&D program, building on the well-established culture of two of the divisions. I joined Mouth as a writer and taste agent, and grew into a merchandising and planning role, working closely with our CCO. I collaborated with the design and engineering teams to create a unique and engaging digital browsing experience, spearheaded the shop’s expansion into liquor and wine, and collaborated with marketing to develop exciting campaigns that increased brand recognition and sales volume.
