I volunteered to gain insight into the demands of working as a GSR in professional football. Worked closely with the Head of Medical & Sports sciences in a multidisciplinary team (Sports scientists, Team Doctors and Physiotherapists), conducting clinical assessments and delivering evidence-based treatments for injured 1st team players with a high standard. Day to day duties also involved detailed record-keeping, emergency action planning and daily reflections on injury cases with the team. During games, I lead a Team of spinal board bearers when needed. Towards the end of my time there, because of the confidence the team had in my competencies, I was asked to independently plan and deliver late-stage rehabilitation of individual players. Worked closely with the players and trained them to ensure athletic readiness for football. Show less
