I promote inquiry of product qualities using electrochemical analysis (discharge, EIS, specific capacity optimization) and x-ray-based analysis techniques (XRF, micro-XRF, XRD, EXAFS, XANES). My knowledge of quality control and assurance is employed to choose materials for battery construction and manufacturing. I constantly enhance manufacturing processes through process optimization. Two of my many contributions include: • Authored protocols and test plans to research and develop thermal batteries for defense technologies in accordance with MIL-STD-810; published two top secret reports and two additional publications. • Submitted and granted three Korean patents for thermal battery and method for manufacturing (2019-11-29), performance testing device and method for ignition device of thermal battery (2020-01-21), and thermo battery electrode production apparatus and Thermo battery electrode production method (2020-01-31). My exceptional communication skills were applied in this position to lead students. We conceived plasmonic materials and explored applications in energy harvesting and optics sectors. I improved plasmonic photonic characteristics for sensors and planned solar cells and photodiodes (perovskite). X-ray based analysis methods (XRF, micro-XRF, XRD, EXAFS, XANES) were applied to enrich electrocatalysis based on catalytic materials. • Published eight papers including a review article with first author contribution on ACS Energy Letters highlights. • Guided more than 20 students, constructed three experiments, and revised 7 manuscripts for publications. I harmonized efforts within a DOW funded chemical engineering research group to study epoxidation of alkenes. I directed catalytic testing with different organometallic catalysts and ligands. I also utilized techniques to examine silica-based immobilization of homogeneous catalysis. • Presented research findings as a poster presentation to 100+ attendees for Chicago Catalyst Club; supported Fe(II)-Aminopyridyl Catalysts for Olefin Epoxidation with H2O2.
