I got in touch within business through an art fair I was participating in. we initially planned a week long summer arts program for children. Our work ethics and artistic outlooks helped us create unique programming like Color My Numbers, a virtual art critique group where artists of all levels get the share their in progress work with 5 other artists and receive feedback. I also work for this company by fulfilling administrative duties. Exodus Bagels has allowed me to work in several capacities, from working the front register, the sandwich line to the very exacting chemistry of making, proofing, cutting, balling and shaping the actual bagels from raw dough. I was also trained in counting the cash drawer at the end of service. The culture and environment at this business was the healthiest and most supportive of any service industry job I have ever worked in. The owners even allow me to use the basement as an art studio during the winter months.

In this role I worked in the deli preparing sandwiches and packaging prepared food. After one year I was promoted to the position of supervisor where I was responsible for placing and receiving orders from vendors, keeping stock and supplies and food items stocked and counted. I was responsible for delegating tasks between other employees; utilizing time management and prioritization skills. It was necessary to be proficient at every position in the store from the cafe to the deli and the floor.

    • Studio Assistant
      • Jan 2015 - Mar 2016

I worked for an established artist as his studio assistant by keeping his studio clean and organized, documenting finished works of art, wrapping works of art for shipment, making sure supplies such as canvas, paint, brushes etc remained stocked. I was also tasked with preparing surfaces by applying contact sheets, base coats of paint, and color mixing/matching.
