• While teaching creative writing in my final semester, I oversaw students' fiction, nonfiction, and poetry projects and helped them understand writing techniques across forms and genres.•For three semesters, I taught rhetoric and composition to freshmen and sophomores, especially as it could be applied to academic and social settings.• Each week, I provided detailed and constructive feedback so students could grow as rhetors and creatives. I also created a stimulating learning environment through the use of diverse instructional techniques, interactive classes, and group projects.• To encourage diverse thinking, we explored a range of personal and university-sourced resources that helped us understand different perspectives on life and how we could be allies who lent our voices to meaningful conversations.
