Bio
Daniel Schuyler Johnson, PE
I had the pleasure of managing Chi at LP Amina, where I asked him to be responsible for many things; customer interactions, project management, technical input... he excelled at everything. He is probably one of the fastest self learners I've ever worked with, which is supremely valuable from a managerial perspective. Chi always took pride in his work, truly embraced anything he was asked to take ownership of and maintained that vital questioning attitude you need from engineers on a project. Chi would and will be an excellent asset to any organization.
Matt R. C. Zedler, P.E.
Chi co-oped with LP Amina from January to May of 2015, and he was an invaluable asset for our small team. In addition to doing more "typical" co-op/intern tasks (patent research, drawings, mechanical design), Chi took on the role of a full-time project engineer for a multi-million dollar engineering project. He was able to remotely manage a drafting team in Beijing, deliver customer documents on time or early, and improve our calculation process and quality of process engineering. Additionally, Chi created a tool to calculate the natural frequency and vortex-shedding frequency of a grid of pipes in the boiler. He is a strong and capable mechanical engineer who is willing to work hard to get the job done (how often do you see interns still working on a Friday evening or Saturday?). Chi is also a strong communicator, fluent in English and Chinese, and an easy-going guy. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a strong, capable mechanical engineer.

As an engineering intern at Weidmann, I worked on three engineering projects with three different groups:1. Cylinder oven project with fabrication group:I worked on improving the management of airflow and humidity in the cylinder drying ovens to insure a repeatable and consistent process.2. Lab size press project with innovation group:My task was to develop the technology and operating procedure for the laboratory size press.3. Small pulse generator project with R&D group:My task was to help design and produce a small-scale impulse generator for the HV laboratory for paper testing.
