I worked for Cheryl between 2007 and 2015 as a Marketing and Communications Consultant in the Internal Communications division for the Midwest Area of Verizon Wireless . During that time, Cheryl was instrumental in my development as an employee - often encouraging me to grow my skills, to take advantage of opportunities as they were presented, helping me to identify career paths, and entrusting me with (and supporting me through) high-profile projects - all the while, providing direction and support. Cheryl has a unique ability to identify and nurture strengths among employees for the mutual benefit of the employee as well as the organization. In this way, she earns sincere and lasting trust and loyalty from her employees, and a remarkable reputation among peers and leaders. As a leader herself, she is kind and honest, yet isn't afraid to address "the hard stuff" in order to move the business forward. Cheryl has tremendous interpersonal skills. I was always in awe at her ability to negotiate difficult people and sticky situations that always seem to rear their heads in the business world. She easily gained buy-in from employees, stake-holders and executives. When dealing with difficult situations, she is patient but direct.
