• Taught two undergraduate seminar classes • Designed Journalism in Perspective as a course for collaboration and discussion anchored on current events, ethics and journalism fundamentals. Included observation, interviewing, and critical thinking • In Snedden Lectures: The Eyes Have It, the students had the semester to propose, research and produce a photo documentary project using any and all media they chose to tell the narrative. I later accompanied a UAF student on an embed with the local 1/25 Stryker Brigade Combat Team in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan from December 2011 to January 2012. I remained in Afghanistan until March 2012. The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner, Christian Science Monitor, the Associated Press and National Public Radio published our work.
