Raised in the rural town of Hutchinson, Minnesota, Chersti Rydning pursued music and theatre avidly as a child. She worked and excelled in her school and community theatre programs then also branched out to MacPhail Center for Music joining the Prelude Performance program in Minneapolis to continue challenging herself. She then went on to graduate from Perpich Center for Arts Education where she focused on music and explored modern theatre through the Walker Out There Series at the world renowned Walker Arts Center.In 2012 she began to focus more on acting in film, with her debut project Charlie winning 6th place at Z-Fest. From there she continued to bloom in the Minnesota filmmaking community starring in several more short films in 2013. City Boots, a film in which she played the lead and had a hand in writing, premiered at the Minneapolis St. Paul International Film Fest, and will soon make its museum and television debut this Winter at the Walker Arts Center and on Twin Cities Public Television respectively. City Boots also screened at numerous festivals around the Midwest and won Best Short Film at the Minneapolis Underground Film Festival. She also played a lead role in The First Date,which premiered and won the Audience Choice award at Twin Cities Film Fest. Chersti is currently seeking additional film and commercial work while also furthering her craft through workshops in Minnesota, LA and New York.
