Duties consist of several aspects from posting jobs to finalizing a start date for new employees under Title 38 and Title 5 of the Code of Federal regulations and Veterans Administration regulations. EDRP (Education Debit Reduction Program) Coordinator (collateral duty): Advocate for new hires for EDRP who have education debt to provide financial reimbursement for new employees hired for hard- to-fill vacancies such as specialty Doctors, Pharmacist, Registered Nurses, and others. Provide proper forms, issue funds thru payroll system, verify employment histories of employees that participate in the program, and maintain all records and financial transactions for the program. Assure all regulations are followed on all aspects of the program from proper verbiage on vacancy announcements to the verification of reimbursement payments sent to participants. Selective Placement Coordinator (collateral duty): Work with VAs Vocational Rehabilitation department to obtain work for Schedule A special hiring authority applicants. Provide guidance in job search for Schedule A applicants and their counselors for proper forms required. Maintain case files for each applicant to match with positions within the VA. Work with managers in referring these applicants when there are known vacancies. This position also covers disabled veteran appointing authorities with emphasis on Disabled Veterans. Other duties and assignments: Backup for the Personnel Security Officer providing fingerprinting for applicants, submitting investigation forms to OPM, verifying identification for ID badge of new employees and instructing new staffers for the Security Office fingerprinting instruction when needed. Provide statistical employment data to the Department of Labor. Providing number total number of local VA staff, new employees, employees leaving the VA, resignations, retirements, terminations etc., in a timely manner directly to DoL web based database.
