  I am working with a group of compassionate educators that seek support and address challenges in an effective manner, with the goal of serving students and their families. I personally spend time checking in with students who benefit from sharing their emotional temperature. I get to help students practice key skills that can help them stay on track. I also help de-escalate upset students by using effective breathing strategies. I review and practice words to use when they are uncomfortable. Basically, I'm building partnerships with students who struggle to articulate what they want and need. I help them with the vocabulary to express their needs and coach them on using a calm tone of voice, relaxed body language, and eye contact or a smile. Show less
