  Maintaining, planning, consulting on and implementing changes to the UK Advertising Codes enforced by the Advertising Standards Authority; working with industry stakeholders, Government department and agencies, and civil society groups to develop proportionate and targeted rules to regulate specific advertising practices and sectors; conducting long term policy projects and preparing reports on Code development, changes or interpretation for the Committees of Advertising Practice, the Advertising Advisory Committee and the ASA Council; advising colleagues, media owners and industry stakeholders on the interpretation of the Codes; developing guidance and initiatives to ensure industry understanding of and compliance with the Codes. The policy areas that I focus on include: medicines, medical devices and healthcare advertising; tobacco products and e-cigarettes advertising; and promotional marketing. I also specialise in specific advertising issues such as gender stereotyping, body image and cosmetic interventions advertising. I also lead on the annual ASA reporting of children’s exposure to age-restricted TV advertising. Show less
