Assisted in lab research at the College of Pharmacy’s Ophthalmic Pharmacology Laboratory at Texas Southern University under Dr.Sunny Ohia. Successful in validating that hydrogen sulfide has potential therapeutic effects on iris muscle in the eyes. Duties include the preparation of fresh krebs buffer daily, preparation of serial dilutions of drugs, dissection of bovine eyeballs for the iris, set-up for the dissected portions of the iris on the organ bath instrument, analyzation of data and results using Microsoft Word, Excel, Graphpad Prism, and Graphpad InStat to create the dose-response curves to determine the ideal concentration of the drug that stimulates the best response.
