I teach general, instrumental, and choral music lessons to students grades 3-5 in a suburban intermediate school. I create curriculum and deliver rigorous, engaging, and differentiated lessons based on national and county music education standards. I regularly deliver lessons both in-person and virtually during the COVID-19 pandemic as part of a hybrid learning model. I design asynchronous virtual lessons using Google Classroom, Pear Deck, Screencastify, and other educational software. I collaborated with the academy to launch an early childhood general music program called "Sound Saturdays," which gave children ages 3-6 the opportunity to get a headstart in their music education. I designed and and delivered hour-long, weekly lessons to small groups of students based on musical exploration with the intent to increase my students' musical interest and aptitude. I planned, prepared, and delivered Junior Cycle (US grade equivalent 6-9) music curriculum and created units that aligned with the Junior Cycle music learning outcomes. I was responsible for designing academically rigorous lessons which prepared students for Junior Certificate examinations. I directed the school's traditional music group and provided extracurricular music opportunities to students throughout the year. In addition to my responsibilities in the music classroom, I also taught learning support classes to first year and transition year students with Irish exemptions and collaborated with teachers to supplement classroom instruction. Additionally, I taught autism-specialized music classes, as well as mainstream students with differing abilities.

I taught general, instrumental, and choral music to students ages 5-12 at Samsula Academy. My greatest accomplishment during my career at this school was pioneering an instrumental program for students ages 8-12. This program was the first of its kind in Volusia County and allowed students to play a band instrument in an ensemble prior to middle school. I also managed a chorus for students ages 7-12. I presented several musical productions per academic year, including a large holiday program that consisted of whole school concerts and a dramatic chorus musical. Within my general music classroom, I developed a curriculum according to the NAfME Core Arts Standards and the Volusia County curriculum map. I designed rigorous and differentiated lessons so that all students were able to achieve challenging instructional outcomes. I completed several forms of professional development, including courses in classroom management, teaching students with disabilities in the fine arts, and using technology in music education.
