UofA MOT Level 3B Placement. Placement included both clinical and leadership roles. Clinical: Outpatient care on the early supported stroke discharge team at St. Mary's Hospital in Camrose, AB. Provided virtual rehabilitation to adults who have experienced mild to moderate deficits as a result of a stroke. Administered physical, cognitive, visuoperceptual, and functional-based assessments. Designed and implemented treatment plans which included task specific training, compensatory strategy training, education of pain and fatigue management, education on sleep hygiene, home modifications; and return to driving education. Leadership: Gained experience working with Occupational Therapy Professional Practice Lead for Covenant Health Alberta. Participated in various meetings with Covenant Health leaders regarding current practice issues and initiatives to solve them, and development of policies and practice documents. Participated in answering consultations from occupational therapy and physiotherapy clinicians. UofA MOT Level 3A Placement. Provided ergonomic assessment, job demands analysis, injury prevention education, and office and industrial equipment and workplace modifications. Another portion of this placement was project based, where I took participated in musculoskeletal injury prevention campaign by completing a literature review on the benefits of implementing dynamic warmup programs at industrial worksites, the challenges to implementing such a program, and evidence-based strategies for successful implementation. I then created a pilot project proposal on how to implement dynamic warmup programs into the workplace, and measures for program evaluation.
