My position is multi-faceted and fast-paced. I split my time between Volunteer Coordinator, Court Caseworker and Mediator, which allows me to be involved in all aspects of the process. First, as a Court Caseworker, I receive, assess and process diversion cases from the Crown Attorney's Office. This involves contacting parties and attorneys and meeting with Judges on Private Prosecution cases. Once the files are assessed, I schedule mediation sessions using our highly trained volunteer mediators. This involves pairing mentors with apprentices and paying special attention to the various schedules and nuances of our spectacular volunteer pool. Finally, I have the privilege of participating in mediation sessions. These sessions are victim oriented, which means we pay special attention to the requests of the victims. If an agreement is reached, I write up the agreement to be submitted to the Crown for review. Show less

Reviewed child welfare, custody, and deprivation cases of Native American children to ensure the courts were acting in compliance with the Indian Child Welfare Act. Upon reviewing the case files, I would determine compliance on a numerical or sliding basis. The data was then analyzed by my boss, Dr. Melanie Sage Ph.D., who is writing an article on the levels of compliance. In November 2015, my boss, colleague and I attended North Dakota's Judicial Conference, where we presented on our initial findings. The audience was comprised of North Dakota's top social workers, attorneys and judges, including the Chief Justice himself, Justice Gerald W. VandeWalle. Show less

    • Office Manager
      • Feb 2008 - Aug 2013

Responsible for administrative duties, for example, ordering office supplies, organizing the office, and booking appointments. Handled cash, credit, and confidential patient information. Upon leaving for the last time in 2013, I wrote a training manual for the incoming employee. This included technical aspects of the job, how to use the computer and enter information etc., how to organize the office, where to put things away, how to deal with potential problems, and other helpful information. The office did not have a training manual prior to my writing one. Show less

Began in 2003 bussing tables and was promoted to bartender at 18. Was involved in the opening and training of all new bar staff during the relocation of the Keg from Pembina Highway to the McGillivray location. I am extremely knowledgable in all aspects of restaurant life. Handled cash, food and customer complaints. Worked very well under pressure. I enjoyed and excelled at interacting with customers.
