Chelsea has passion to do great in everything she does. I got to know Chelsea as the Senior Class President as she represented the LU student body in the SGA. Her passion for others success proves strong as she always communicates professionally with both Students and Administration. Finally, if you get a chance talk with her, I strongly recommend taking a moment and listening to her amazing testimony. You will be inspired.

I wrote this book because many of the (excellent) books I read on work, calling, and vocation, didn't address some of the unique questions I had as a Christian woman, wanting to think deeply and well on the topic. At the time, I was walking through a challenging professional season, and there weren't many books addressing the questions I was processing.Women face unique opportunities and challenges within work, and I’ve personally wrestled through many of them myself.Women wrestle with questions like:"If I step back for a season to raise children, will I be able to enter back into the workforce?""How do I glorify the Lord with my work?""How do I balance work and life?""How do I deal with a bad boss and respectfully stand up for myself at work?""Should I pursue higher education if I want to get married and have children? ""Should I work outside the home if I have young children?"The majority of people spend approximately 90,000 hours of their lives working. Yet many of us don’t consider why we work, where we work, or even how we approach our work. I want you to be equipped to step into a meaningful vocation, know how to lead well, navigate challenges, and press into opportunities. My desire for this book is to honor women in many different seasons of life, serving in different roles and capacities. God calls each one of us to different roles, assignments, and seasons throughout our lives. Show less

    • Author - Longing for Motherhood, Finding Hope in the Midst of Childlessness
      • Mar 2018 - Present

Childlessness remains a taboo topic in today’s culture, especially in Christian circles. Many women feel isolated, ashamed, or uncertain of how to reconcile this trial with a loving God. The death of the dream of motherhood—whether from infertility, barrenness, miscarriage, or the loss of a child—is one of the hardest journeys women can walk through. In Longing for Motherhood, Chelsea Patterson Sobolik speaks to these burdens specifically. She shares vulnerably about her own journey of childlessness and how she has ultimately come to view her story through the lens of Scripture and our hope in Christ. While remaining tender and empathetic toward suffering and longing, she discusses the comfort we have in knowing that the Lord is sovereign over all, and that His love is sufficient to carry us through any and every situation.A timely book for women struggling with childlessness, as well as for pastors, friends, and family who want to care for them well, Longing for Motherhood is a tender, truthful companion for a difficult journey. They work to bring sustainable solutions to the world’s greatest problems – disasters, extreme poverty, violence, oppression, and mass displacement. Show less
