I was recently working for the Child and Youth Services on Fort Belvoir. I am currently on leave without pay while PCSing to Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson, Alaska. I am a Child and Youth Program Assistant and absolutely love my job. I have been working in this position since September of 2013 and have earned my CDA in June of 2015. From August 2015 until January of 2016, I performed the tasks of a Lead Teacher in a toddler room. Before that, I worked primarily with infants but I am flexible enough to work with all age groups. I have experience working in each age group ranging from infants to Pre-K. I have many duties and responsibilities and on occasion go beyond my standard job description to help out wherever it is needed. My job includes creating and initiating developmentally appropriate lesson plans to help build on each individual child's development. I engage the children in daily routines and model appropriate behavior for the children. I maintain accountability of everyone in my classroom and create a safe and healthy learning environment. I care for the children in my classroom as a whole as well as for each individual child's needs. I make the children feel safe and secure and at the end of the day I inform the child's parents of the child's daily activities and keep communication on the child's development and needs in the classroom as well as at home. I manage the classroom to make sure the environment as well as the paperwork is up to date. I've been trained in CPR and Child Abuse, as well as Administering Medication to children. I am a hard worker who works well with my co-workers and can also work well on my own if needed. I take initiative when it comes to seeing a job gets done. I take pride in caring for children and shaping them into well developed individuals. Show less

As a hostess, I had many responsibilities. My main role was to greet guests as they entered the restaurant and walk them to their tables. My job was important for guests because as a hostess, I was the first and last person they saw during their experience. By the time they left, my job was to make them feel good and wanting to have another experience at our restaurant. It was also my job to keep constant communication with management as to how full the restaurant was and if there were any guests waiting on a table. I also had to give accurate information with the guests as to how long it would be if there was a wait for a table in the restaurant. I tried to make each guest's personal experience a good on and accommodated for the guest's special needs to the best of my abilities. I helped out wherever it was needed, whether it was helping the servers bring food to the tables or helping wash dishes. I opened and closed on many occasions and am a hard worker. I worked well as a team with my co-workers and took leadership when it was needed. I worked there until we moved to Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Show less

I received my job as a customer service representative at the Pizza Hut on Fort Polk, Louisiana in February of 2012 and I worked there until we moved to Fort Drum, New York in May of 2012. There, my job was to answer phones, take orders on the register, make wings on wing-street, cut and box pizza when they were ready to get sent out, and when necessary, prep the food. I also talked to customers, making sure each one I served was satisfied with their food and service. I've opened and closed on many occasions. I was very good at taking orders and completing tasks given by my managers, and have been a good leader and team member to new employees and all my co-workers. I gave help whenever and wherever I saw that it was needed. Show less
