Bonifay, Florida, United States I am the clinical IT nurse within this facility. Troubleshooting software issues and relaying them to the EHR company is a frequent task. Improving nursing staff and physician documentation is also important. I helped implement a new EHR for the emergency department. Continual adjustments to both EHR systems within the hospital is also a regular task. I also assist in running the quarterly reports for AHCA. I submit reports to TJC. Creating new hire packets and creating their logins into the system are another task I do. I also update policies for the IT department. Show less

Panama City, Florida, United States I provided therapeutic care to active duty military patients within a mental health hospital. I assessed patients on whether they were having suicidal or homicidal ideations, were experiencing audio or visual hallucinations, were experiencing any cravings if they had a history of substance abuse or were detoxing, were currently experiencing any physical pain, and what their anxiety and depression levels were. I dispensed routine and PRN medications and used paper charting to document. I attended code stats and code medicals to assist. I used a detox protocol and assessment skills to monitor if a patient was experiencing adverse symptoms while detoxing from ETOH or opiates. Each shift, I had mandatory nursing education to provide to the patients and often covered topics such as, COVID-19, handwashing, respiratory system, cardiac system, medication management, and relaxation techniques. As the infirmary nurse, I cared for acute and chronic health conditions, mental health issues vary from losing a family member while incarcerated to suicide attempts, and using protocols to treat the inmates’ health problems. I frequently administered insulin to the open population inmates. I administered medications and wound care to the confinement inmates. I was also the infection control nurse for the facility. Also, I was the ADA nurse for this facility and it’s sister facility managing the disabled inmates’ concerns, ensuring their equipment was in proper function, checking their skin for breakdown each month, and attending meetings where the entire ADA population inmates met with a committee quarterly. This was the most broad nursing job I have held due to the number of inmates we were responsible for medically. Show less

Marianna, Florida, United States The resident population is adults with disabilities. I absolutely adored the residents and really enjoyed these people. I worked in the outpatient clinic, but due to staffing shortage I also administered medications and worked the houses every other weekend and during the week when I was needed.
