I worked with special needs youth, primarily upper camp boys (aged 15-19), at a near 24 hour basis at times. My responsibilities included supervising the boys at their bunk and at all activities and field trips, I was course coordinator for a Transition to Adult Living Skills course, and I was in charge of the weekly newsletter for my unit. Additionally, throughout the two months, I attended seminars on working with special needs campers, met and attended lectures given my the camp social worker, and engaged my campers in special workshops dealing with hygiene and cleanliness.
