Youth Development Coach
-
Aug 2014 - Sep 2015
As a youth coach for Street Soccer USA, I was responsible for planning, engaging, and mentoring children ages 5-13 in tri-weekly soccer practices. During my time we fostered 150+ unique engagements and averaged 45 youth participants a day.I was responsible for developing practice plans centered around one of SSUSA’s eight curriculum skills while also encompassing best practices of sports-based youth development. Our curriculum is designed to mirror the lessons soccer teaches to the lessons and skills needed to succeed in everyday life. I assisted my team members in delivery quality soccer practices that meet the needs and skill levels of our various youth participants. As a youth coach, I was expected to also engage children in their “off-the-field” activities by fostering positive relationships, assisting in homework help, and providing mentoring. Show less
