Lalin Paranavitana
Chatura joined the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) as a Software Engineer in 2003, He had a very good understanding of the business requirements of CSE and took up the challenge of maintaining the Central Depository System (CDS) software as the head of the Software/Systems Development Team. He was promoted as the Assistant Manager Systems Operations as he had a very good understanding of the Automated Trading System and the operations of the CDS. He was promoted as Manager Systems Operations due to his consistency in resolving issues with his analytical skills and the ability to take responsibility. He was an active member of key projects initiated by CSE and a Committee Member in designing the systems requirements for the Broker Order Management and Back Office Systems. He was involved in the implementation of the Automated Trading System. His knowledge in Oracle development tool, excellent managerial skills and the professionalism in his work was a great asset to the Exchange. I recommend and wish him success in all his future endeavors.

When Colombo stock market enjoyed the longest bull run ever during 2009 -2012 we wanted a Senior IT professional to head our IT operation of stock broking arm Asia Securities, one of largest stock brokers of Colombo Stock Exchange , a subsidiary of Asia Capital Group . These were the days requiring major IT infrastructure upgrades , software changes to client side ..broker side and stock exchange side , meeting regulatory requirements whilst ensuring our client satisfaction when Colombo stock exchange reached new heights . These challenges requires a skill set of a mature IT professional who could juggle with these challenging variables . Chatura brought a unique blend of technical and managerial skills required for the situation and brought sanity to our operation. His knowledge on capital markets was an invaluable asset . It has been a privilege for me to have had Chatura on my IT team for 2 years . I wish him all success .!!!
