    • Prep Cook
      • Jun 2020 - Present

I started as a prep cook in June of 2020. As a prep cook, I prep mass amounts of vegetables and fruits for the "salad bar" and hot foods. I used a deli slicer, slicing deli meats. I seasoned and prepped prime rib and roast beef every day for the dinner cruise. After prepping and roasting off, I went up and carved the prime rib or roast beef- customer service. One of my main jobs this season and to come, is training the new crew coming into the kitchen. Showing them the ropes and working very closely with the head cooks for the lunch and dinner cruises. Making inventory lists, checking back up prep, plating desserts, working with the runners to keep back up prep up to par, helping the dishwashers work through the rushes, checking on the carvers. Three quarters through the season I started working on "third deck" doing short order with fryers and grills in the snack bar. I also worked on another boat doing the same.

I worked mainly in Rides... The first year I did games and did not enjoy it. Then when I went back I got into rides and started enjoying it. I worked in what is "Timbertown", which was "LoonyTunes" on the "kid" rides but I got switched out to the "adult" rides between 2011 and 2012. It wasn't too bad, my favorite part was the Internationals coming over from various countries with WAT. I get very close to them, learn their languages, and have a good time. In Rides, I went through the ROTC program- I Trained various people, which was fun. I operated, rides such as the Comet, and Raging River- two of my favorites. I worked there for Six Seasons. and I enjoyed them for the most part.
