      Part of the team that creates 2 catwalk collections a year for the Topshop Unique brand which shows at London Fashion Week, as well as the Resort and Pre-Fall collections and the recently added High Summer collection.My role includes:-Creating and amending first patterns using all forms of pattern cutting (using the Gerber system) for the Topshop Unique catwalk range, Core range and special projects such as creating ball gowns for the Met Ball.-Creating technical drawings and detailed spec sheets for each pattern which would include information pertaining to the finishes of the garment and the materials/trims required.-Attending in-house fit sessions and ensuring all garments are created to the highest quality.-Following a garment through to production.-Liasing with the in-house sample cutters and machinists to create the best quality garment.-The range of product I have had to create has been wide and varied, from high tailoring, to fur outerwear, to soft dresses, to fully corseted ball gowns and everything in-between. The spectrum of fabrics has also been equally as varied from silks, chiffons, sequins, furs to leathers and technical fabrics. Therefore working here has been invaluable in stretching my creative muscles and improving my skills required to meet the challenges presented by a highly creative and demanding design team.-I am in charge of the ordering and invoicing of the fusibles and canvasses for the Sample Room.-To be successful in this role I have had to be good with time management, organised, solution orientated, driven and adaptable.

      Just Jamie is one of the largest tailoring suppliers of apparel for women, men and children in the UK. Fast paced, high pressured with a strong design lead ethos that recreates top designs for commercial use.My roles included:--Creating first patterns using the Gerber system for a wide range of garments (dresses, skirts, trousers, jackets and coats) for women and children. The garments were predominantly tailored with a lot of jackets and coats (structured, wadded and soft) but I also created a large range of soft separates in softer fabrics such as light cotton, chiffon and stretch. --Liaising with designers to advise on the construction, fabric and amendments of garments before toiling half mock ups for the designer to critique.--Problem solving combining technical knowledge, an understanding of fabric characteristics and creativity to find practical ways to bring design ideas to life.--Creating patterns which comply with individual customer garment requirements and measurements.--Draping on the stand with fabric to achieve more complex looks.--Tracing reference garments and digitizing patterns onto the Gerber system.--Being precise and accurate in my work.--Acting as the UK technical link with our offshore pattern room in Vietnam.--Working and delivering to tight deadlines.During a re-evaluation of our blocks I was entrusted with the task of drafting and updating our dress blocks and in acting as a technical link to Vietnam, I have helped develop a clearer format for relaying instructions resulting in fewer questions and increased turnover.
