During my experience with working with the LCRA, I became very acquainted with the outdoors. This job tested my limits and I learned a great deal. Working in the Texas heat over the summer was difficult, yet rewarding. As a recreational specialist, we created fun and safe environments for our guests; we also educated them while they participated in our festivities. Since we were located on the Colorado River, we were able to educate our guests about the water constraints that we were facing in Texas. Also flora, fauna and animal species were identified during kayaking or raft trips. Worked at the ropes course and zip line located on the park. Show less
