Examination of crime scene evidence for bodily fluids, hairs and fibres. Taking evidential photographs and recording data. Presumptive testing of bodily fluids. Use of high and low power microscopes Extraction of DNA using EZ1 and Automate Express systems as well as use of manual extraction techniques.Specialist methods of DNA extraction such as from bone, dirty or contaminated samples and differential extraction of semen.Quantification of samples using real-time PCR.PCR analysis using numerous different multiplex PCR kits.Visualisation using capillary electrophoresis.
